2008 September Work Dates - Dunbar Memorial Garden
Please note: in the event of rain or other inclement weather, work dates are canceled

Saturday, September 6th - 9:00am to noon (general maintenance and preparing for work on straw bale construction benches (aka "moving a few pavers"), seed collecting and "dead heading" old blooms

Tuesday, September 9th - 6pm to 7:30pm - maintenance and seed collecting.

Saturday, September 13th - no work - Jesse's mom and dad are attending a Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates Organ Donor Council Meeting in Frankfort! (Go to the garden anyways and look at the flowers and butterflies!)

Sunday, September 14th - 6pm to 7:30pm - maintenance and seed collecting.

Saturday, September 20th - 9:00am to noon - start straw bale construction benches - this work will be dirty, please wear old clothes. Work consists of placing and anchoring straw bales, covering with chicken wire and layering cement over all.

Saturday, September 27th - 9:00am to noon. A fine layer of stucco will be the finish layer on the straw bale benches and at that time we will be embedding several of our hand made ceramic tiles!

By late October we hope to be doing some transplanting.
